It was in Paris at Le Trianon nightclub that Jean Paul Gaultier unveiled his limited edition Diet Coke (or Coke Light, as it’s called in Europe) bottle designs. The two ultra-glam bottles take the fashion designer’s signature looks to the world of Coke. Gaultier, the recently named creative director of Diet Coke in Europe, used his sense of style to update the classic Coke bottle, just as Karl Lagerfeld had previously updated the bottle using black, white and pink patterns. One of Gaultier’s bottles is dressed in his signature sailor stripes while the other is outfitted in lace-corseted lingerie. A corresponding ad campaign shows pictures of Gaultier’s face superimposed over models’ bodies, also dressed in stripes and black lace, showing the designer’s flare for sass. A third style bottle wrapped in tattoos will come out later this summer. Who knew Diet Coke could be so fashionable?
