Dates. For the Southern woman the words “dates” has a deeper meaning than dinner with that special someone. Dates include lunch dates, play dates, shopping dates, and of course a hot date. And while Southern women pride themselves on living the “slow life”, we actually live in the fast lane juggling work, family, and friends. We make balancing life along with its many “dates” look effortless. So how do we do it? Behind every Southern woman there is a fabulous calendar of course! Hung proudly in the kitchen or at the office, these calendars help us remember all kinds of dates. Our go to calendar designer? Inslee Haynes — who creates calendars with each month having their own fabulous design. Inspired by artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec and famous fashion photographer Garance Doré, Inslee began designing calendars as a gift to her parents before she went abroad to Italy for the semester back in 2007. “I was going abroad to study in Italy, and I wanted my parents to have something new from me to open each month while I was gone,” says Inslee.
Inslee’s 2013 calendar gives you the Oh! Oh, Ohhh! feeling each time you flip the page, with each month’s design being so special because they “evoke a mood and a sense of style that is unique to each part of the year,” says Inslee. This makes it almost impossible to choose our favorite.
Over the years, she has spread the word about her calendars through her sorority and friends. Designs have caught on like wild fire as Inslee now lives in New York, gaining inspiration from America’s fashion capital, so that we can proudly hang her calendars in any space. No matter what kind of date comes up, from looking which Saturday the game falls on or when to do some early holiday shopping, Inslee Haynes’ calendars are the perfect, fashionable way to keep you and all of your friend’s dates straight.
