At Chickadee, located in a former gas station remodeled for retail in Cahaba Heights, you’ll find a little something for everyone. Designer candles, artsy jewelry, elegant china, antiques and furniture are just some of the unique offerings of Chickadee. Owner Kate Hartman and mother-in-law Carolyn Hartman are responsible for the store’s wide variety, as they “wanted the shop to reflect the two generations.” As such, Chickadee is the perfect place to find a thoughtful gift, perhaps for a bride-to-be, hostess or special friend. There’s even a room in back, draped in soft pinks and blues, for baby gifts and a wall filled with pictures of happily engaged couples, newlyweds and wedding invitations. There’s a sense of girlish sophistication and warmth in the brightly colored table settings and flirty decorative pillows displayed throughout the store.
Haute Pink spotted the store’s best selling K Hall Designs bath and body collection. The handmade soaps, hand creams, bath salts and candles boast a graceful simplicity and fresh fragrance to match any home. We also love Chickadee’s new collection by Beatriz Ball. These ultra-shiny dishes are made from 100% recycled aluminum. You can bake, refrigerate and serve in them and never have to worry about polishing. Each piece is handmade by sand casting to create a smooth finish and a remarkable dish that’s simply enviable.
